So I reach out to you… I understand your anger – it can be helped though – there is a solution. If I start by blaming the education system in your area, maybe the socio-economic conditions may not be favorable, the parents must take some responsibly although they are likely the victims of a vicious poverty trap encapsulating ignorance and passing it on through generations of enemies of reason.

Very soon, my white neighbour who likes to watch porn on his widescreen TV naked with the french window curtains open so his neighbour’s teenage kid can see him will be putting up his huge house-sized England flag. Maybe there’s a connection — perhaps he equates his patriotic fervour with the size of his dick.

Personally, I don’t go in for flags, football, patriotism, or apologising to anyone for thinking those things are irrelevant to my life. It’s got nothing to do with what I “feel about my country”, since emotionalising over any nation state — negatively or positively — is a practice I find utterly incomprehensible

But if anyone wants to follow my neighbour and fly the flag from the side of their house in support 23 of the most overpaid athletes on planet Earth, who am I to suggest they get a fucking life instead? Just don’t mention “the age of reason”…

See, I don’t doubt that some people might really have been turned away from a pub for wearing a football shirt probably on the basis that the place has a dress code, or the management don’t relish the prospect of a bunch of drunken titbags being able to easily identify their deadly football rivals via the medium of clothing and then trashing the place in pursuit of their total annihilation. But it takes a special sort of brain to leap from being asked to remove a football shirt to ‘because foreigners’. And by special, I of course mean, fucking thick.
