Their top story, the most important thing in the world according to them, was 'Couple Splits Up'. Every hour, all evening. "Ah," you may say, "but they're simply tailoring their news agenda to lead with the stories they think their listeners will be most interested in". Well fuck that. I listened to Radio 1 on the way home, and their top story was the NI car-bomb. Then two other stories, with the Coles getting a mention at the end, just before the football scores. I think it says something when pop music station gives less importance to celebrity piffle than an actual news channel does. I assume they did anyway, I was waiting on some fast food and the TV was on Sky News. I didn't really listen; they kept cutting to shots of Ms Cole to remind us she is part of Girls Aloud (right?), and the short clip of her in the airport, and back to Maxy.
