I live with an avid Mail reader (to the point where if she misses a day, she has withdrawel). The excuses range from funny to humerous.

"They're not racist, they're telling the truth" is the most common.
"Well other papers are worse". Other papers being The Guardian. Probably just a coincidence.
"They're not allowed to lie" - I emphasise as she does. You see since the PCC can punish Dacre by death, the Mail is never ever going to lie about anything, ever. Nor will the other papers. Except the Guardian, obviously.

I've come to accept that no matter what arguments I give, what evidence I provide, I will never ever win. Hell if Paul Dacre himself made a front page saying "We've been lying all this time" I doubt she'd believe it, saying that the government changed the front page at the print shop or some equally asinine conspiracy.

I geniunely think some people simply enjoy being whipped up into hate.

It's not often you'll see me even vaguely getting anywhere near defending the Hate Mail. But if this person is a Christian, why has he presented programmes called The Sikh & Make Me A Mullah? If he isn't a Christian but is sort of vaguely interested in all religions, is that a suitable qualification for presenting a programme about Christian worship?

Just saying, like.
