Psychics exploit the vulnerable… unless they’re giving us money
I have no problem with anyone attacking psychics. They're snake-oil merchants who exploit the vulnerable to rake in the cash. There's no science whatsoever in what they do - at best it's a cold-reading technique; at worst, simply bullshit.
The Mail today coruscates Cilla Black for endorsing a psychic website.
Cilla Black was once said to be the highest-paid woman on British television as the nation's favourite matchmaker on Blind Date.
Yet she is now set to rake in profits from a website and phone line that offers premium-rate "psychic" advice to gullible callers.
Psychic in quote marks? Gullible callers?
Unless, of course, they happen to be searching on the Mail's own website, obviously. Which sponsors links for Helena: Tarot reader, fortune teller and astrologist offering FREE readings (for £1.50 a minute); Elizabeth Rose Online Psychic and Tarot Readings, Clairvoyant, Medium and Astrologer (well that's certainly all the bases covered - want to chuck a bit of voodoo in there as well, Liz?) for £29.99 for 20 minutes and Kasamba Online Advice (including David James - surely not the Pompey goalkeeper? - for $6.70 a minute).
Kerching! See, obviously Cilla is wrong, because she's with the competition!

Can’t help but feel that Cilla’s endorsement of physics would lead to a slightly less exciting televisual experience for her shows “Surprise Surprise” and “Blind Date”
